In May 2020 as the nation was brought to its knees by the pandemic outbreak and the killing of George Floyd, Harrison, like many others across the nation, took to the streets in protest. Wanting to make change, he became heavily involved in political organizing. He joined BLM RI PAC and shortly thereafter became Communications Director. Recently he was elected Executive Director and has helped bridge grassroots organizing with electoral politics.
“Like so many people in this state, I have experienced, firsthand, food and housing insecurity. The burden of affording basic needs such as child care, housing, food, and healthcare has become all too familiar to people who are working to survive. I am running because I believe that our state government needs people that will serve “us”.”
