Providence City Council Ward 5
Jackie Goldman (they/them) is a public health researcher at the People, Place and Health Collective housed at the Brown University School of Public Health and community organizer in Mount Pleasant.
They are a queer and non-binary person. Their research primarily focuses on preventing overdose and other harms related to drug use (like HIV, and hepatitis C). At their job, they routinely see how the War on Drugs, lack of affordable and low-income housing, and stigma, keep people in poverty, and cycles of incarceration and houselessness right here in Rhode Island. As a community organizer, they advocate to make sure that everyday people in Providence are heard by their elected officials.
“The city has been mismanaged for far too long and I believe that every person in Providence deserves affordable housing, quality public schools for all, and well-maintained roads and sidewalks.”
