About Robin

Robin holds many titles proudly; from Hmong-American womxn to Rhode Island townie to textbook Millennial. Growing up in a refugee family, she faced racism, classism, and a number of other social injustices. She’s dedicated her life to community advocacy and is determined to overhaul broken, oppressive systems and build a better community for all, particularly her younger brothers, cousins, and former students.

 

Robin currently works in environmental advocacy and is pursuing a Masters Degree in Energy and Climate Policy from Johns Hopkins University. She worked for two years in Providence Public Schools as an educator and restorative justice counselor, and an additional three years working with students from across the state. She serves as the secretary of Rhode Island Latino Arts Center and Providence Youth Student Movement (PrYSM). She lives in Wayland Square with her partner and betta fish.
