Woonsocket City Council
Marlene Guay is a proud resident of the City of Woonsocket for 25 years as well as a lifelong Rhode Islander. She is the single mother of two adult sons who have graduated from the Woonsocket public school system. She is the daughter of blue collar parents, one being an immigrant.
Marlene proudly graduated from the University of Rhode Island as a non-traditional student focusing on education and child psychology. Marlene has spent almost two decades volunteering, working and advocating for education. Her focus has been on social justice with the belief that education is essential to support equity and representation.
I am running for office because I believe in Woonsocket. Our residents feel unheard and disenfranchised from the political process. I hope to return public service back to politics, empower the residents to feel heard, empowered, and valued.
